QuarkXPress

Avoid building QuarkXPress documents using “fake” monotones or duotones (a grayscale TIFF in a frame with a non-white filled background). Create a true monotone or duotone in Photoshop instead.

QuarkXPress built-in trapping is ignored when a vector based graphic is brought in. Quark will default to the trapping by the drawing program. Please make sure that trapping is included in these files. We generally like .25 of a point (.25pt). See Trapping.

Avoid using the "NONE" background color on picture boxes with placed TIFFs. Doing so may cause jagged edges along the white areas of the TIFF. Also it may cause any other color behind the TIFF to print through your image.
